Event Description
GFN's purpose is to uphold each person's intrinsic value and dignity by following Christ's example of visiting and caring for the imprisoned. "I was in prison and you came to visit me," says Matthew 25:36 Also, in Isaiah 61:1: "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed." With its message of liberation and restoration, GFN's visit epitomizes the spirit of Isaiah's prophesy, offering consolation and hope to those behind bars.
The Bible says in Hebrews 13:3 "Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body." The outreach of GFN honors our common humanity by remembering and supporting prisoners in accordance with the biblical call.
Additionally, Luke 4:18 states, "I have been anointed by the Lord to bring good news to the poor, so I am filled with the Spirit of the Lord." He has sent me to proclaim the liberation of the imprisoned, the restoration of sight to the blind, and the release of the downtrodden." As GFN sets out on this mission, it embraces the call to assist and elevate people in need, echoing Christ's mission to preach freedom and liberty to the downtrodden.
GFN hopes to share God's love and grace with people who may feel abandoned or ostracized by providing them with hope, encouragement, and spiritual sustenance through this visitation to Kabare Prison. GFN believes in the transformational power of redemption and restoration and works to shine the light of Christ's love in the darkest places via practical aid and compassionate outreach.
